Missing the Craft

Happy Wednesday Everyone!
It has been a long time since I have posted anything on my blog these days.  My head has been swirling.....the beginning of a new school year can keep you running!!  I went to JoAnn Fabrics with my best bud Wendy B. and purchased a few things.  I am anxious to go down into the dungeon to start working on fall crafting.  I am very sad that I have lost all of my beach vacation pictures but am trying to stay positive about it.  Hope everyone is having a wonderful day.  Hard to believe summer is fading away ;(

SUNDAY'S SPILL

A SCRAPBOOKER'S NIGHTMARE

Well I had a wonderful time in Myrtle Beach this past week BUT one of the worst things happened to me!!  We lost our camera :(.  The camera is replaceable but the 75 pictures and video clips taken on the beach are not!  I am just sick to my stomach thinking about all of those great shots we took on the beach, at the aquarium, playing putt-putt golf, and swimming.  I had so many ideas and plans with those pictures.  We think the camera fell out of our beach bag and is lying on the beach catching some waves or someone is now the proud new owner of a 9.2 mexapixel sony digital camera with a very expensive memory card inside of it.  I even purchased some special paper and embellishments at a scrapbooking store that I found in Myrtle Beach that would have looked great with some of the pictures I took.
I guess I can sit here and pout about the loss of the photos or I can look on the positive side and start shopping for a new camera!
If you are ever in Myrtle Beach -check out Scrapping at the Beach.
It is a great little scrapbooking store that carries quite a wide variety of supplies.  I purchased some colorful brads and paper from the Basic Grey line.  Have a great Sunday-I will be looking at the ads for my new camera.  Remember to....roll up your sleeves and create something with the heart!

SUNDAY'S SPILL

CREATING KEEPSAKES SCRAPBOOKING CONVENTION
JULY 2010
VALLEY FORGE CONVENTION CENTER

Well-after seven classes and a four hour crop we are finally home!!  I am soooo tired but very happy that we attended the scrapbooking convention.  It was a blast!!  We are already talking about going next year.  Here are a few photos taken over the two day trip:

from left to right:  Kelli, Barbara, Wendy B. (in back) me (purple shirt), Karen (in back) and Carol
Barbara, Tammi Potter, and me.
Barbara and I took the Mosaic class-Tammi Potter is the author and inventor of this creative skill!  She and her husband were wonderful.  We totally loved taking this class.  I would recommend taking one of her classes if you ever have the opportunity.  She even autographed our book!!!!

Dan the Cricut Man!  He was demonstrating quite a few different techniques using the Cricut Expression and the Design Studio Software!!  What a guy!!  Loved all of the goodies in his booth!

Carol and Barbara on day #2 looking at all of their loot they purchased from the vendor fair!!  They got some really great stuff!!!
Here are a few of the displays from the Technique Tuesday booth.  I totally love all of their products!!  Carol and I took a few classes that they offered and we loved every bit of it.  :)

Here are samples of the cards from the class that we took on Saturday afternoon.
This is a sample of the concepts taught at one of the digital scrapbooking classes.
Another great sample from Technique Tuesday!!

Reflecting on the trip I had a different experience this year than last year.  We had more of us attend this year and I was able to take a lot of classes.  I felt a little rushed over the two days but it was a great rush! ;)  After catching up on some sleep today -I went through some of the things that I purchased.  I am so happy that I was able to get my hands on "The Cinch" by Memory Keepers-I also purchased quite a bit from the Technique Tuesday booth-I just love their products.  My favorite vendors were Embellish It! (they carry a large assortment of Basic Grey) Mosaic Moments with Tammi Potter, Tattered Angels, and Quick Quotes.  If you ever have the opportunity to attend a scrapbooking convention you should go!!  I had a wonderful time with fantastic friends and I can't wait until we go again.  ****Oh one more thing-a little story to tell you.  My friend Barbara and I were taking a class and I attended the Friday night crop late.  When I caught up with my buds they informed me that they signed me up for a singing contest to win a Xyron sticker machine, the small Xyron adhesive machine, Tim Holtz grunge board, and refills for the machines.  I thought they were pulling my leg-BUT THEY WEREN'T!  So we sat at the table and had to come up with a song using the words, George Washington, Ruffled Grouse, Fireflies, milk, and white tailed deer!  I will try to post a video of the contest-it was hillarious.....and WE WON!  We had to sing in front of 400 people attending the crop-on stage-
Note to self:  never overlap a class with the crop or else your friends will set you up LOL!!!
$289.00 -2 night stay at Radison
$200.00-in scrapbooking classes
$too much money-in shopping
Scrapbooking convention with friends-PRICELESS

NEED TO VENT A LITTLE!

Ok blogger friends.....I am a little frustrated today and I need to vent.  I will try to stay on the positive side but it can be difficult sometimes.  Here goes...I have been looking for the H2O solution cartridge to do a double page layout.  I have gone to two JoAnn Fabric stores, two Michael 's stores,  one AC Moore, and also a small scrapbooking store.  NO ONE CARRIES THIS CARTRIDGE!  I think the straw that broke the camels back today was when the owner of the scrapbooking store told me that she had the cartridge but was not going to sell it to me-she was holding them for her regular customers.  ARE YOU KIDDING ME?  Lady you just lost a regular customer!  I think the heat (which reached 103 degrees today) was melting my brain by this time.

I feel like I live in May-berry sometimes.  I get tired of having to order things online or hope that I win a bid on Ebay.  Why is it that two of the same stores can carry things so differently?  Why is it that two different stores carry the same products but at different prices?  Can you hear the frustration???  (banging head up against the wall right now)  I was looking for Ranger felt pads for the distressed inks and guess what?  NO ONE CARRIES THEM!  So I had to order them online and waited three weeks for them to arrive.   Hear me loud and clear!!! If I ever win the lottery I will open up a stamping/scrapbooking store and serve all of the customers that walk through the door, put a smile on my face, and make sure that I carried a wide variety of products!!!  Ok enough of the venting...thank you...I feel much better now.
I am looking forward to spending some time with the gang this evening to discuss our plans for the CK convention this upcoming week.  My buddy Carol is making a cheesecake pound cake....the sugar should help calm me down LOL........so wishing we had a Hobby Lobby!!!!  Oh well, it is off to the dungeon to try and create something!!!!  Have a blessed day ;)
